Finally.
One of the most annoying things in life (well in the life where you own an iPhone and have purely first world problems) is the YouTube app.
Where you need to have it open at all times if you want to play it.
Now it seems one genius over at Shortlist was as frustrated as we were, and decided to share a hack that will see you singing along on that bus while texting in whatsapp.
So here’s the hack that will allow YouTube to keep playing music without leaving the app open:
Open YouTube in your Safari browser
Open the website in Safari, and make sure to stay on that page. If Safari offers you to open the page in the app, choose no and continue.
Select then tracklist you want to play
When this is done, press the 'home' button to exit the page, which will make whatever's playing stop.
Open the Control Centre
Swipe up from the home screen to access the Apple Control Centre. Your phone's media playback will now be synced with your YouTube playlist, ready to play or pause as you need.
It’s quite literally music to our ears.
