The new iPhone is expected to ditch the traditional headphone jack, which many people aren't too pleased about. In its place, Apple looks set to add a second speaker.
A Barclays research memo that AppleInsider picked up on says as much, while analysts Blayne Curtis and Christopher Hemmelgarn say that Apple will use a second amp built by supplier Cirrus Logic to power the speaker. These analysts also stated that the iPhone 7 will ship with its own Lightning-equipped headphones.
The iPhone 6 and iPhone 6S feature a headphone jack on the same side as the single speaker, so it would make sense for the rumoured second speaker to simply take over this freed up space.
Of course, there's nothing official just yet, so we'll have to wait for Apple to unveil what it has in store for the iPhone and the trusty headphone jack.
