Microsoft's ultimate laptop goes on sale in the UK today but be prepared for a big shock
Microsoft's first ever laptop was unveiled late last year and, after months of waiting, it's finally arrived in the UK.
With a classic design, stunning touch screen and digital pen included in the box, Microsoft are hoping the new Surface Book will be as big a hit as its popular Surface Pro tablets.
And there's plenty of features to suggest users will like it.
The Surface Book's biggest selling point is that it's HD display can be detached from the keyboard.
With its own power source and processor inside, the screen becomes a high performance tablet and is removed by a simple tap of a button.
Other top features include a 13.5-inch PixelSense Display, 12-hour battery life, backlit keyboard and fast Intel processors.
It's also powered by Windows 10 and had been dubbed "the Ultimate Laptop" by Microsoft.
"We're moving people from needing to choosing to loving Windows, and these devices promise to fuel even more enthusiasm and opportunity for the entire Windows ecosystem," said Chief Executive Satya Nadella during the unveiling of the Surface Book in New York City, last year.
Sadly, all this top tech does come with a price and it's high.
The base Surface Book starts at £1,299.99 and rises to a whopping £2,249 for the top of the range machine.
This beast comes packed with 512GB of internal storage, a Core Intel i7 processor, 16GB of RAM and dedicated graphics.
Clearly, this is a lot of cash and could put the Surface Book firmly out of reach for many consumers.
