When you're out and about your phone will constantly be searching for wi-fi networks to connect to, which can zap the battery life.
As Apple works away at its next iPhone many are asking for extended battery life because if you're the type of person that perpetually has a low battery and carries around two portable chargers with you there's never enough battery life.
Apple iPhones will let you multi-task with apps - so you can be composing a tweet but then quickly pop into your internet browser to find a link - and you won't lose the original post.
However, there is another way, guys.
According to The Guardian, Android blogger Russell Holly uninstalled the Facebook app on his smartphone in January and realised the performance improvements.
For now, it seems the best way to increase the life of your phone is to ditch the app and access Facebook via the web instead.
Writing in The Guardian, technology reporter Samuel Gibbs claims to have found that uninstalling Facebook's iOS app and accessing the social media site via Safari can save up to 15 percent of an iPhone's battery life. So, basically, the difference is between you being able to listen to Spotify on that loooong train journey and not.
Apart from battery related woes, Gibbs also found out that uninstalling the app also left him with more storage space, with 500MB being freed up once the app was gotten rid of. With iOS 9, if an app plays audio, or uses background processes, you can see exactly how much power that process has used, for either the last 24 hours, or 7 days.
For those that may not want to part with the Facebook app, there is good news.
SelfieMark has announced the release of its photo-sharing app on iOS and Android, which allows users to poll their peers in side-by-side image comparisons.
iPhone users who would like to see the battery life of their handset last longer can reportedly do so by deleting the iOS Facebook app. For Android users, engagement is highest on Mondays in North America (five percent higher than the weekday average), Wednesdays in Europe (five percent higher), Thursdays in Asia (seven percent higher), and Thursdays in Latin America (15 percent higher).
Android to try using Microsoft apps but might be iOS because my wife is already on it.
