If you're heading to the beach or lake this summer and plan on taking your phone, then here are a few tips to keep your device from drowning.
Even if you don't plan to go swimming with your phone, then these tricks will protect it from sand, dirt and the extra knocks it gets on adventures.
You have two options to "waterproof" your phone. Both are cheap and quick but beware, these are not guaranteed to keep your phone completely dry so do it at your own risk.
The first method is to use a resealable plastic sandwich bag, like the ones you can buy in packets at any supermarket.
You can still use the phone (even fingerprint scanners still work) and you can also use the camera though your photos may be a bit blurry.
Try blowing air into it so it will float if dropped into water, though the phone is not as easy to use.
The second option is to use Glad Wrap.
Put some around the phone a few times and you're ready to go. It's not as watertight as a plastic bag but it'll work for splashes and accidental drops in the water.
This method also lets you take better photos than when your phone is in a bag.
